Event Description:

The 3rd Annual Hoops and Heroes benefit basketball game this year will feature the Napoleon Firemen Association vs the Napoleon Police Association. The event will be held Napoleon High School Grand Canyon (701 Briarheath Ave, Napoleon, OH 43545) on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 7PM. 

The event partners currently include: Napoleon Civic Center, Napoleon Firemen Association, Napoleon Police Association, and Three Cord. 

Admission to the event is a Free Will Donation.

All proceeds taken in will benefit Monica Nye.

Monica Nye was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in October of 2018 at the age of 37.  This type of breast cancer is very aggressive.  She has completed 5 months of chemotherapy, had a mastectomy, and 28 radiation treatments.  She is currently on oral chemo for 6 months and will have 2 more surgeries in the near future.

​Monica and her husband Nick are life-long residents of Henry County.  She is the administrative assistant at The Henry County Bank in Napoleon.  Nick is the Deputy Director of Emergency Management in Henry County and is a Captain at Monroe Twp. Fire in Malinta.  They have a son, Owen, who is 10 years old and is a 5th grader at Patrick Henry.
